are 1st Aid at Work Training Services and are based in Swanley
in Kent. We are a nationwide HSE approved First Aid at Work training
organisation having great experience in delivery to all public and private
organisations and can guarantee to provide a high quality, cost-effective
service. We provide advice and consultancy in all things First Aid.

In the beginning.....
1st Aid at Work Training services was started in 1994 and in the same year
gained Health & Safety Executive approval to deliver First Aid at Work courses
along with the 3 year refresher courses required to keep first aiders's
knowledge up to date.

Course materials included in price:
First Aid manuals
The First Aid Manual from First on
Scene is a fully approved manual written by ambulance paramedics and
contains “up to the minute” First Aid protocols for all areas of first
aid. This manual is given on all HSE approved First Aid courses and is
available at extra cost for all other courses
Handouts
Handouts will be given to students when
required to aid learning.
Certificates
Named Certificates (valid for 3 years)
will be issued at the end of the courses. The certificates are approved
by the HSE for the purposes of the Health & Safety at Work Act (First
Aid) 1981.
Value Added Services
Certification
Certificates will be issued direct to
the student on completion of the course. 1st Aid at Work
Training will normally issue replacement certificates free of charge
after a request in writing has been received.
Course Numbers
All courses are for a maximum of 12
students as per HSE guidance but double courses can be run for up to 24
students with 2 trainers.
Database
A database of all qualified First
Aiders (FAW) and Appointed persons will be maintained by us in Microsoft
Access format.
Requalifying
We will contact you after 2.5 years to
remind you of the need to requalify.
Trainer and Course Quality
Trainer Qualifications
Our trainers are all fully trained in
First Aid at Work and hold either a First Aid at Work trainers
certificate as recognised by the HSE's First Aid Approvals and
Monitoring Section (FAAMS) or formal teaching
qualifications (FAETC, Certificate of Education, Training and
development NVQ level 3 units.)
Trainer Quality
Trainers and assessors are monitored
for performance. Our trainer assessors will conduct monitoring visits
whilst courses are being delivered. Full details of our quality
procedures are available on request.
Quality and consistency of delivery of
training
All First Aid courses will be delivered
to our set Health and Safety approved syllabus. Agreed Specific Hazard
content will be used to tailor courses to your needs before the start of
the course.
All delegates complete course
evaluation forms at the end of all courses and results are fed back to
you in summary form.
Services and Facilities
We can supply the following services

Call up Database.
We can create and maintain a call up
database for you. Once Employees have been trained with us, their
details can be recorded on a dedicated database backed up and stored in
a secure location. Any movement of staff can be catered for by a simple
notification procedure from you to us.
Training facilities required
Location
All training will be delivered on your
premises. We require the following Training facilities:
Room
The training room should be of a
sufficient size to allow First Aid skills to be practised. In general we
recommend a minimum size of 7m by 7m for a group of up to 12 people.
Naturally, if smaller groups are to be trained, a smaller room can be
used.
Equipment
We will provide all First Aid specific
materials and aids i.e. Resusci Anne's, Bandages and Dressings. You will
provide a flipchart, OHP and if possible a TV and Video.
Access.
We require a convenient
Loading/Unloading area for equipment and car parking facilities for our
trainers and assessors at the chosen locations.
